How We Meet Your Educational Needs
The learning Academy of Santa Rosa serves the educational needs of
students in grades 6 through 12 who who have experienced one or more
of the following:
- Enrolled in a nontraditional school setting,
but is now seeking a transition into public school
- Dropped out of school
- Referred for Services by Santa Rosa School District
Personnel
The learning academy, through its multiple programs,
endeavors to develop a unique educational plan for each of
these students.
First, students are assessed to establish a baseline of
their scholastic performance. they then work with a
counselor to determine their needs and desired outcomes and
to define their short and long term goals. Students
are frequently assessed in the classroom and are
diagnostically assessed three times per year. It is
required that all students assume the role of the
primary stakeholder in their plan for success and that they
personally monitor their progress at regular intervals and
make adjustments as necessary - the student has the
ownership of the plan, is empowered to set target
timeframes, and is responsible for meeting its objectives. The teachers as facilitators for the learning process,
provide meaningful instruction, access to resources, and
feedback for monitoring and planning purposes.
